To all healthcare travelers (Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists) out there, arm yourselves with information.
I picked up this information from another recruiter, but it is important, so I thought I’d post it here (but all credit goes to Dawn Pugh). Here’s a link to her post, but the story is posted below.

Car Scam: The Warning!!!
You may have already received a warning letter or email notification regarding this diabolical car scam. Please be vigilant and be aware of the dangers involved.
Warnings..!!!!
Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public
car park. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the
rear window of the car. When I took it off (after I got home),
it was a receipt for petrol. Luckily my friend had told me not to
stop, as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the
car. Then we received this email yesterday.
Source: Anonomous.
THE WARNING FROM POLICE
THIS APPLIES TO BOTH WOMEN AND MEN
BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE.
NEW WAY TO DO CAR-JACKINGS, AND CAR SCAM (NOT A JOKE).
Heads up everyone! Please keep this circulating. You walk
across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. You
start the engine and put it into Reverse.
When you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your
space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle
of the rear screen. So you stop, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is), because it is obstructing your view.
Then when you reach the back of your car, is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere.
They jump in and take off. They practically run you over as they speed off.
And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.
So now the car-jacker has your car, your home address, your
money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are compromised!
BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.
If you see a piece of paper stuck to the back window, lock your doors and just drive away.
Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you
read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and
family, especially to women.
A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.
Please tell all your friends.
(Thanks again to Dawn Pugh)
Happy Travels!

Our traveling therapists are too busy to let headaches slow them down, so I thought I would mention a few ways to prevent headaches and cure them quickly!
There are a variety of causes behind headaches. Headaches can occur because you are suffering from sinus, migraines or tension. Each of these types of headaches should be treated differently.
Most people make the mistake of running for medicines AFTER they have a headache. Don’t make that mistake. Most headaches are easily preventable and there is no need to wait for a headache to appear in order to find the treatment. Why would you endure the pain of headache while you can easily prevent it? You can easily prevent headache by using the following home remedies:
Take two teaspoonfuls of honey every day. This will help prevent any headache attacks.
Apart from honey, natural apple cider vinegar too has been proven to preventive headaches. You can take equal amounts of natural apple cider vinegar and water and boil them in a pan well until smoke begins to rise. When the smoke is strong enough, lean your head over the pan and inhale the smoke for about fifty to eighty breathes. This goes a long way in preventing future attacks of headaches. Also if you are already suffering from a headache, this treatment helps to cure headache as well.
Massaging is yet another way to prevent and cure headaches. Buy Pure Almond Carrier Oil and Lavender Essential Oil. Wet your fingertips in Pure Almond Carrier Oil and then add a couple of drops of Lavender Essential Oil and gently massage your temples, the hollows at the sides of your eyes, behind the ears and over your neck in a circular motion.
Contact Amy McGuire at Cirrus Allied today @678-993-2291 to hear more about travel therapy jobs! If you have a headache that doesn’t get cured by one of the above solutions, maybe you should start traveling with us! We have hot jobs in the most attractive cities in the country!

Some health benefits of coconut oil include the following:
- For Hair Care: Coconut oil is one of the best natural nutrition for hair. It helps in healthy growth of hair providing them a shinny complexion. Regular massage of the head with coconut oil ensures that your scalp is free of dandruff, lice, and lice eggs, even if your scalp is dry. Coconut oil is extensively used in the Indian sub-continent for hair care. It is an excellent conditioner and helps in the re-growth of damaged hair. It also provides the essential proteins required for nourishing damaged hair. It is therefore used as hair care oil and used in manufacturing various conditioners, and dandruff relief creams. Coconut oil is normally applied topically for hair care.
- For Stress Relief: Coconut oil is very soothing and hence it helps in removing stress. Applying coconut oil to the head followed with a gentle massage helps in removing mental fatigue.
- For Skin Care: Coconut oil is excellent massage oil for the skin as well. It acts as an effective moisturizer on all types of skins including dry skin. The benefit of coconut oil on the skin is comparable to that of mineral oil. Further, unlike mineral oil, there is no chance of having any adverse side effects on the skin with the application of coconut oil. Coconut oil therefore is a safe solution for preventing dryness and flaking of skin. It also delays wrinkles, and sagging of skin which normally become prominent with age. Coconut oil also helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin infections. Therefore coconut oil forms the basic ingredient of various body care products such as soaps, lotions, creams, etc., used for skin care.
- For Premature Aging: Coconut oil helps in preventing premature aging and degenerative diseases due to its antioxidant properties.
With everyone trying to save money these days, I thought I would put together some cost-effective ways to bring your hair back to life! These are excellent methods that can be used on the go by our Traveling Therapists. Cirrus Allied understands that you don’t have a lot of time to spend on your hair while on assignments away from home. Our Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants and Speech Therapists love to hear new ways to help their hair look better without spending a ton of money!
Save money and give yourself a break from the chemicals found in most hair care products by using the following natural home remedies for your hair. Tame your frizzy hair by rubbing coconut oil into your hands and applying sparingly onto your hair. You don’t want to overdo it – too much will make your hair look greasy. Shampooing your hair less frequently also helps with the frizzies. Excess shampooing strips natural oils from the hair.
Rinse your hair with baking soda to get rid of shampoo build-up and styling residues. Rinsing your hair with lemon juice is said to bring life and shine back to dull hair. Apple cider vinegar mixed with water will give your hair shine and bounce.
Add essential oil of ylang ylang “>ylang to your shampoo, conditioner and styling agents as a hair rejuvenator. Ylang ylang and rosemary essential oils are also believed to stimulate hair growth.
Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair. What goes into your body is reflective on the outside including your hair.
There are many types of specially designed physical therapy equipment ranging from devices to aid in activities of daily living to exercise equipment that can include anything from treatment tables and arm splints to treadmills and weights. The equipment needs for any office that serves this area can vary greatly depending on the type of therapy that is the main focus of your practice. Each different type of patient or client has individual needs depending on the reason needed.
Physical therapy in general is a type of practiced medicine that involves highly specialized exercises designed to improve the quality of movement and strength for those with illnesses or injuries and is also designed to prevent future injuries or health problems. Physical therapy may include such varied activities as stretching limbs, weight lifting, walking exercises or water aerobics. It can also include what is known as manual therapy. This is when the physical therapist will perform twisting, pushing or pulling of body parts to improve function, strength and mobility for those that need this type of therapy.
The best way to determine what type of physical therapy equipment you may need is to have a thorough knowledge of the types of therapy being performed in your office. If you mainly work with geriatric patients for example, many of the needs of your patients will focus on mobility issues and increasing daily function as well as aiding those with the many physical and mental disabilities associated with aging. Common devices used can include walkers, canes, crutches, lifts and transfer boards as well as other equipment patients can use at home to promote self-sufficiency.
Maine is known as the lighthouse state for good reasons. By the turn of the 20th century, at least 70 lighthouses guarded its craggy seacoast, its deepest rivers and even one lake. A mariner could sail up and down the coast and always have a lighthouse in sight. Sixty-five of these beacons still stand. There are more lighthouses here than in any other states but Michigan and New York, and more coastal lighthouses than anywhere in the nation! Maine is a great place to see the distinctive towers and explore their rich history.
Interested in visiting a historical Maine landmark or taking your family on a lighthouse tour? Take a job with Cirrus Allied in Maine today! We have travel therapy jobs across the state of Maine. Work during the week and tour the state on the weekends!
Enjoy visiting all of the lighthouses while on a 13 week assignment for Cirrus Allied! Our Physical Therapy Travelers love to take advantage of our excellent destinations for work!

Here is a little more information on the lighthouses, I thought you might enjoy:
The lighthouses became much more than directional aids. In their remote and often spectacular settings, they developed a distinctive look that continues to appeal to admirers of beauty and proportion and also to those who enjoy Yankee ingenuity, along with its occasional quirks. With some science and luck and quite a few mistakes, they came to have a luminous, effective technology.
Somehow Maine lighthouses attracted a cadre of keepers who, with their families and other assistants, were remarkable not only for their dedication to the job but for their many acts of bravery and heroism as well as some misbehavior and even madness!
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one-third of adults ages 65 and older fall each year in the United States. Falls are the leading cause of deaths due to injuries and the most common cause of nonfatal injuries and hospital admissions for trauma in the older adult population.
Many people erroneously consider falling a normal consequence of aging, but that simply is not true. Falling in older adults is very often a result of lost strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination or balance, as well as a side effect of medications or loss of vision. There are evidence-based physical therapy treatments that help prevent falls in older adults.
Physical therapists assess each person individually and determine the risk factors for falling, such as loss of mobility, loss of balance, weakness, incoordination, ambulation problems, home environment dangers, and decreased confidence. Physical therapists create specialized programs to address those risks and then guide the person through the program.
APTA urges older adults to schedule a balance and falls assessment with a physical therapist to reduce the risk of falls and related injuries.
In addition to performing a fall-avoidance program designed specifically by a physical therapist, older adults should:
- Ask all health care providers to review their medicines – both prescription and over-the counter – to reduce side effects and interactions.
- Have their eyes checked by an eye doctor at least once a year.
Reduce fall hazards in the home, such as pets, loose rugs, debris and poor lighting.
