It seems to me that a lot of travel therapists I talk to are looking for stable contract positions. That sometimes seems like an oxymoron…stable contract. But we have found a terrific solution. Cirrus Allied is now placing Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists in government facilities…VA Hospitals, DOD Medical Centers, and Indian Heath Services centers on long term contracts. The credentialing process may take a bit more work, but once you are credentialed, you never have to do it again. Also, a great benefit to working on a government run facility, you do not need to be licensed in that particular state, you only need to be licensed in a state. Meaning if you are only licensed in Florida, but want to be submit to our position in North Carolina, you do not need to go through the licensure procedure for NC.
Another great benefit to these government positions is the longevity. Most of these contracts are for a year and some extend to four and five years. Very few if any other contract position will give you that longevity.
